Málaga is located in the region of Andalusia. Charming Andalusia is the southernmost region in Spain and has a lot to offer. Caminito del Rey

El Caminito del Rey is a walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga, Spain. The name derives from the original name of Camino del Rey, abbreviated locally to el caminito. The walkway had fallen into disrepair and was partially closed for over a decade. After four years of extensive repairs and renovations, the walkway re-opened in 2015. It has been known in the past as the "world's most dangerous walkway" following five deaths in 1999 and 2000.

Ronda

Ronda is one of the most spectacularly located cities and, due to its beautiful location in the Andalusian Mountains, is one of the most beautiful cities in southern Spain. It is also one of the oldest cities in Spain. It is located on a rock, 100 m above the river Guadalevín, and is cut in the middle by an impressive gorge

Over that gorge are 3 bridges, the Puento Romana (Roman Bridge), the Puento Viejo (Old Bridge) and the Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), a stone bridge built in 1793, with three arches over the river. From this last bridge you have a beautiful view of the 100 m deep gorge (Tajo gorge). The bridge also connects the old with the new part of the city.

Ronda is 100 km away from Villa Botanica, it is 1 hour and 20 minutes by car.

Sierra Nevada

Andalusia often thinks of the heat waves and a Sangria under the Spanish sun, but Andalusia also offers the opportunity to ski. In the southern Spanish province of Andalusia is the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which includes the highest mountains in the country. The mountains reach over 3400 meters and with more than 110 km of slopes, even the avid skier will never be bored. The ski area has modern lift systems as well as good snow cannons that guarantee the snow security of the area. As a result, skiing in the Sierra Nevada ski area is generally possible from early December to early April. In addition, this is of course the perfect place to take a hike in the spring or autumn.

Alhambra

If you go to the south of Spain, you really can't miss the Alhambra. It is the landmark of the city of Granada and it will enchant you no matter what. Alhambra is medieval splendor. Towering over the city and also known as the Red Palace, the ancient fortress is home to buildings dating back to the 13th century and above all, well-preserved. In fact, the Alhambra is a miniature city, within the walls you will find numerous buildings. The absolute highlights are the Nasrid Palaces and the Christian Palace of Emperor Charles V. Alhambra is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
