Alcazaba Málaga

During your stay at Villa Botánica, you should not miss a visit to the Alcazaba. The Alcazaba in Málaga is a Moorish fortress with Arab and Roman influences.

Roman Theater of Málaga

The theater in Málaga is not the largest theater in Spain, but it is one of the oldest Roman theaters in Spain. The Roman theater was only discovered in the 1950s during the renovation of the library and municipal archives. It was hidden under the buildings. In the end it was decided to demolish the buildings that were built on the theater and the restoration of the theater has only been completed since 2011.

Málaga Cathedral

The cathedral is located in the square "Plaza del Obispo" and the tower of the cathedral stands out from all sides of the city. The full name of the cathedral is "La Santa Iglesia Cathedral Basilica de la Encarnación".

The construction process was frequently interrupted by a lack of money. The left tower of 84 meters is therefore complete, but the right tower is still only half completed.

The cathedral is popularly called "La manquita", which means the 'one-armed lady'. The long construction process has also ensured that the cathedral has a wide variety of architectural styles.
